Transportation
The car is usually the preferred method to move around in Hillcrest. It is a reasonably short drive to the nearest highway, such as I-84, from anywhere in this area, and it is very convenient to come across a parking spot. However, the public transit service in Hillcrest is not very frequent. Nonetheless, the neighborhood is served by a few bus lines, and bus stops are not very far-removed from most houses. Hillcrest is fairly bicycling-friendly. However, traveling as a pedestrian is not very common in this neighborhood, despite the fact that many daily needs can be carried out without a vehicle.
Services
Residents will welcome the proximity to primary schools, which are within a short distance from most, if not all, properties for sale in this part of Boise City. On the other hand, it can be very difficult to get to high schools without the use of a car. At the elementary level, both public and private schools can be found. With respect to food, it is occasionally possible for house buyers in Hillcrest to buy their groceries without a vehicle. In addition, a restaurant is often just around the corner, and a limited variety of coffee shops is available as well.
Character
Hillcrest offers a broad selection of green spaces to enjoy. Green spaces, such as Cassia Park, are very well-situated and there are a few of them nearby for residents to visit, making it easy to get to them. Lastly, as there are few pedestrians, this part of Boise City remains relatively quiet; however there can be higher levels of noise for those who are around US Hwy 30 or I-84.
