The preferred approach to navigate Highland Acres is usually driving. However, the transit service in Highland Acres is fairly poor. Nonetheless, residents are served by a few bus lines, and the nearest bus stop is generally very close by. Highland Acres is not very well-suited for pedestrians since running daily errands is occasionally difficult without the need for a car. This community is also not particularly cycling-friendly as the bicycling network is not very comprehensive, and there are a fair number of elevation changes to challenge cyclists. Nevertheless, there is a very high density of bike riders.

It is a reasonably short distance to access primary as well as high schools from most properties for sale in this community. Apart from public schools, there are private elementary and high schools. Regarding food, in all but a limited number of cases, a vehicle is required to buy groceries. Residents can enjoy approximately 40 restaurants and coffee shops as well.

Highland Acres is a very good community to buy a house in for those who prefer a calm atmosphere. Highland Acres is very quiet, as noise from streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue.
