The favored method to get around in Hernando is very often driving. It is especially convenient to park, and the majority of real estate listings are a rather short car ride from the nearest highway, such as I-55. This part of the Memphis metropolitan area is not very cycling-friendly since there are a good number of slopes, and Hernando has quite bad cycling infrastructure. Hernando is also not very well-suited for people who like to travel as pedestrians since most daily needs are difficult to meet without a vehicle.

It is a rather short trip to reach primary schools from any location in Hernando. On the other hand, there are only a very small number of high schools and therefore they can be a very long distance away. In terms of food, in most cases, a vehicle is required in Hernando to access the nearest supermarket. A limited selection of restaurants and coffee shops is available as well.

People who prefer a slower-paced atmosphere will enjoy Hernando. Hernando is very quiet overall, as the streets are usually very tranquil.
