The best approach to move around in Heritage Village is very often driving. It is especially convenient to access a place to park. In contrast, public transit riders may find very limited choices in Heritage Village by reason of the service's low frequency. Nevertheless, the community is connected by a few bus lines, and most properties are near a bus stop. This part of the Greater New Haven metropolitan area is not especially conducive to cycling since the bicycling network is rather limited, and cyclists encounter quite a few hills. It is also inconvenient for pedestrians to get around in Heritage Village since meeting day-to-day needs is difficult without the use of a car.
