Hauula is particularly car friendly. In contrast, Hauula is not an especially convenient part of the Urban Honolulu metropolitan area for moving around by public transit. Nevertheless, the community is linked by a few bus lines, and the nearest bus stop is usually very close by. Traveling as a pedestrian is not very feasible for residents in Hauula as many day-to-day needs are impractical to meet without a car. The bicycle is a fairly poor means of transportation in this community because there is a considerable amount of elevation changes, and there are few bike lanes.
Services
It is a short pedestrian trip to reach both primary and secondary schools from anywhere in Hauula. At the elementary level, both public and private schools can be found. In terms of food, property owners in this part of the Urban Honolulu metropolitan area will be pleased to learn that a grocery store is always only a reasonably short distance away. A small variety of restaurants is available in Hauula as well.
