Driving is a great transportation option in Halawa. Finding a place to park is quite easy, and most houses for sale are a very short drive from the closest highway, such as I- H-201. However, commuting by public transit is difficult in Halawa. Thankfully, residents are served by Halawa Aloha Stadium Station on the Skyline. Homeowners benefit from around 20 bus lines, and the closest bus stop is usually around the corner. A majority of the houses for sale in this community are located in places that are not particularly suitable for people who like to travel as pedestrians as running daily errands is occasionally challenging without a vehicle, and a good number of businesses of different types can be found as well. Cycling is also difficult in this community because there is a significant amount of elevation changes, and the bicycling infrastructure is fairly poor.
A supermarket is ordinarily reachable within a rather short distance from anywhere in Halawa. Likewise, there are a fair number of options for those who appreciate nearby restaurants and cafes. In terms of education, both primary and secondary schools are easy to reach without the need for a vehicle from anywhere in Halawa. Residents have the option of public and private schools at both the elementary and high school level.
There is a good selection of green spaces in Halawa. Green spaces, such as Pearl Harbor Visitor Center and Ala Puumalu Community Park, are very well-located and there are around 20 of them close by for residents to relax in, which makes it easy to access them. Thanks to the presence of few pedestrians, this part of the Urban Honolulu metropolitan area is relatively quiet; however those who are near I- H-1 or W H1 Freeway may experience higher levels of noise.
