House owners benefit from approximately 10 bus lines, and the closest bus stop is usually around the corner. This part of the Norwich-New London metropolitan area is not very bicycling-friendly as the cycling network is fairly poor, and cyclists are faced with quite a few hills. It is also occasionally difficult for pedestrians to navigate Groton as carrying out daily needs is at times challenging without the use of a car.
In all but a few cases, a car is needed in Groton to reach one of around 10 supermarkets. Nevertheless, reaching the nearest pharmacy and therefore some basic food items is usually easy. Residents of Groton can enjoy over 100 restaurants as well. With respect to education, it is a reasonably short distance to get to primary schools from anywhere in this city. However, residents may consider it challenging to access high schools without needing a car. In addition to public schools, there are private elementary and high schools.
Groton is a city to buy a house in for those who prefer a chill environment. As there are very few pedestrians, Groton is relatively quiet.
