On the other hand, the transit access in Green Tree is not very practical. Nonetheless, property owners benefit from a multitude of rapid transit stations with access to the Castle Shannon via Beechview. There are about 10 bus lines, and bus stops are typically very close by. Bicycling is challenging in this borough as Green Tree is home to rather limited bicycling infrastructure, and bike riders encounter a considerable amount of hills. Getting around as a pedestrian in this area is also not very popular, although many common errands can be run without needing to resort to a car.

Green Tree is a great borough for those who enjoy both indoor and outdoor activities. Although this area is not known for its vibrancy, finding one of the approximately 20 nightlife venues is very easy as they are generally situated in very convenient locations. However, most locations in the borough have fairly good access to green spaces, such as Green Tree Nature Center and Beechview - Seldom Seen Greenway, since there are over 50 of them nearby for residents to discover.
