This part of the city is moderately suitable for those who prefer to travel as pedestrians; many daily needs can be carried out without the use of a vehicle. Commuting by bicycle is also convenient in Foothills because the cycling infrastructure is good. The public transit system in this part of the city is rather poor. Nonetheless, house owners have access to a few bus lines, and it is very easy to reach a nearby bus stop from most residences. On the other hand, driving is a reasonably good mode of transportation in Foothills. Parking is quite easy.

It is a reasonably short trip to get to primary schools from anywhere in Foothills. In contrast, there are no high schools in Foothills. With respect to food, it is very easy to get to the nearest supermarket without a vehicle in Foothills. Additionally, a restaurant is commonly just around the corner, and a limited selection of coffee shops is available as well. It is also a rather short pedestrian trip to a reasonable choice of clothing stores.

Character

Foothills is a "jack-of-all-trades" when it comes to the feel of this neighborhood. Foothills is quiet, as the streets are generally reasonably peaceful, however some parts can be quite loud, especially near one of the railway lines. On the other hand, green spaces, including George Rogers Park, are very well-distributed and there are around 20 of them close by for residents to check out, making it very easy to get to them. Finally, even though this part of the city is not known for its lively atmosphere, with its a few nightlife venues, there are options for nighttime activities.
