Traveling by car is very easy in East Thomas. Parking is quite easy, and it is a very short car ride to the closest highway from any home in this part of the city. However, East Thomas is not very transit friendly. Nevertheless, there are a few bus lines passing through the neighborhood, and bus stops are not very far from most homes. This part of the city is not especially convenient for people who travel as pedestrians as few day-to-day needs can be met without the use of a car, and various businesses are fairly close at hand. Traveling by bicycle is also challenging in East Thomas as bike riders are faced with a significant amount of elevation changes, and the cycling infrastructure is somewhat poor.
