A majority of the homes for sale in this district are located in places that are moderately conducive to pedestrians; many common errands can be run without needing to use a vehicle, and a variety of businesses are rather close at hand. However, District 9 is not particularly cycling-friendly since cyclists encounter a considerable amount of hills, and the cycling network is not very comprehensive. Cars are a fairly good means of transportation in District 9. It is convenient to park, and it is a reasonably short car ride to the nearest highway, such as Jones Falls Expy, from any home in this area. On the other hand, the public transit service in District 9 is not very frequent. Nevertheless, house owners are served by about 20 bus lines, and it is very convenient to reach a nearby bus stop from most residences.
Services
It is easy to reach the nearest grocery store as a pedestrian in this district. Over 50 supermarkets are situated in the area, and the best selection can be found on streets such as Harford Road. Likewise, there is typically a restaurant or cafe in close proximity. Residents benefit from a good number of nearby clothing stores. As far as education is concerned, both primary and secondary schools are easy to access without a vehicle from most properties for sale in District 9. Along with public schools, there are private elementary and secondary schools.
Character
No matter what type of character home buyers prefer in a district, District 9 is a good option. Even though the ambience is not the most lively in this area finding one of the about 40 bars is easy since they are generally situated in reasonably convenient locations. District 9 is very quiet overall, as noise from the streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue. There are over 250 public green spaces nearby for residents to discover, including Orchard Hills Park and Mt. Pleasant Woods, which results in them being easy to access from most locations in the district.
