Getting around as a pedestrian is reasonably feasible for property owners in this area; many daily errands can be run without a vehicle, and there are also a fair number of businesses nearby. In contrast, it is difficult to travel by bicycle in this area since there are quite a few slopes, and there are few bike lanes. The favored approach to navigate this district is usually a car. It is very convenient to come across a parking spot, and nearby highways, such as I-795, are fairly easy to access from any home in District 3. However, getting around by public transit is challenging in this district. Nevertheless, homeowners can count on many rapid transit stations on the Metro Subwaylink. There are about 10 bus lines, and it is very convenient to find a nearby bus stop from most homes.
In District 3, residents will usually be able to reach primary schools without a vehicle. In contrast, locals may find it difficult to reach high schools as pedestrians. In addition to public schools, there are private elementary and secondary schools. With respect to eating, property owners in District 3 will welcome that a grocery store is always only a reasonably short trip away. Stevenson Road is among the best streets for groceries. Additionally, those who like to dine in restaurants will have a good number of options, for example along Smith Avenue, and home buyers are served by around 30 cafes as well.
District 3 is a very good district to buy a home in for those who prefer a calm atmosphere. It is easy to reach parks from a lot of locations within the district, since there are over 200 of them nearby for residents to explore, like McDonogh School and DNR Held Conservation Easement. This area is also very quiet, as there tend to be low levels of noise from traffic.
