District 2
District 2 offers a tranquil neighborhood with a relaxed atmosphere and limited street noise, especially near major transportation routes like I-97. The area features a variety of housing options, including mostly single detached homes along with townhouses and small apartment buildings, built around the mid-1970s. Commuting by car is very convenient due to nearby highway access and ample parking. Public transit is available through several bus lines with accessible stops. Shops, supermarkets, and dining choices can be found within relatively short distances. Educational institutions, both public and private, are easily reachable, supporting convenient access to primary and secondary schools. Several green spaces, including Southgate Old Mill Park, provide pleasant outdoor opportunities.
This area will attract home buyers who want to reside in a compact community as it is moderately accommodating to pedestrians; carrying out daily needs is convenient without needing to resort to a car, and there are also a fair number of businesses close by. On the other hand, District 2 is not very bike-friendly because there are a good number of hills to challenge cyclists, and the bicycling network is rather limited. Public transit users may have limited choices in this area as a result of the low service level. Thankfully, house owners benefit from about 10 bus lines, and bus stops are not very far from most properties. On the other hand, driving is a very good transportation option in District 2. Nearby highways, such as I-97, are easy to access from anywhere in District 2, and it is very convenient to find a parking spot.
A grocery store is ordinarily reachable within a reasonably short distance from any location in this area. Additionally, a restaurant is often just around the corner, and there are also approximately 20 coffee shops in District 2. In terms of education, in District 2, residents will typically be able to get to both primary and secondary schools as pedestrians. Apart from public schools, there are private elementary and high schools.
District 2 offers a relaxed environment. District 2 is very quiet, as noise from the streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue closer to I-97, one of the railway lines or the airport (Baltimore/Washington Intl Thurgood Marshall). It is sometimes challenging to access parks in the district since they aren't well-distributed. Despite that, there are over 50 public green spaces nearby for residents to relax in.
