However, District 1 is not particularly bicycling-friendly because there are few bike lanes, and bicycle riders encounter quite a few slopes. District 1 is an extremely good area for driving. Many homes for sale are a short drive from the nearest highway, such as I-275, and it is very easy to come across a place to park. On the other hand, public transit users may experience few options in this district due to the service's low frequency. Nevertheless, the district is linked by approximately 20 bus lines, and most properties are very close to a bus stop.

It is a rather short distance to reach both primary and secondary schools from anywhere in this district. House buyers benefit from public and private schools at both the elementary and secondary school level. With regards to food, it is often practical for property owners in District 1 to purchase groceries as pedestrians. Character

One of the appealing aspects of District 1 is that it contains both vibrant and quiet areas. Even though the atmosphere is not the liveliest in this district with its over 50 bars, there are options for nighttime activities. Gay Street in particular offers a vast selection of places to go out at night. At the same time, this district is quiet, as the streets are reasonably tranquil, however noise can be bothersome closer to US Highway 25W, I-40, one of the railway lines or the airport (Knoxville Downtown Island).
