District 1
District 1 offers a peaceful and quiet environment with generally low traffic noise levels. The district features primarily single detached homes, many built around the mid-1970s, providing spacious options with three or more bedrooms. While public transit options exist with several nearby bus stops, personal vehicle use tends to be common for daily tasks such as grocery shopping. Dining options include a modest selection of nearby restaurants, complementing the quiet atmosphere. The neighborhood contains a few parks within close range, enhancing outdoor opportunities. Although bike lanes are limited and terrain varies, parts of the area can accommodate cycling activities.
The preferred way to navigate this district is very often driving. Coming across a parking spot is easy. In contrast, the public transit service in District 1 is fairly poor. Thankfully, there are about 10 bus lines crossing the district, and bus stops are not very far-removed from most homes. The bike is a somewhat poor means of transportation in District 1 because the cycling infrastructure is not very well-developed, and there are a fair number of slopes. Thankfully, bicycling is more practical in certain sectors than others. District 1 is also not very conducive to people who travel as pedestrians since meeting daily needs is challenging without a vehicle.
A portion of home buyers in District 1 may be able to travel to one of around 20 supermarkets as pedestrians, while others will need a vehicle. There are also a few opportunities for those who value restaurants within a short distance. With respect to education, there are only a very small number of high schools and primary schools in this district and accordingly they can be a very long trip away. Along with public schools, there are private elementary and high schools.
The character of District 1 is exemplified by its calm environment. District 1 is very quiet, as noise from the streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue. Parks aren't well-spread out, which makes them occasionally difficult to get to from most locations within this area. Still, there are around 30 public green spaces nearby for residents to unwind in, such as Mullins Park and Tennessee State Prison.
