District 1 offers a tranquil environment with peaceful streets and low noise levels throughout the district. Its housing options include a balanced mix of single detached homes and small apartment buildings, primarily constructed during the 1960s and 1970s, offering a variety of sizes from lofts to spacious four-bedroom units. Accessibility by car is excellent, with easy access to highways like I-55 and convenient parking available almost everywhere. While public transit options exist with several bus lines nearby, the neighborhood emphasizes convenience with multiple pharmacies and a selection of restaurants and coffee shops nearby. Primary and private schools are also conveniently situated within the district.

Cars are a great mode of transportation in this area. The majority of houses for sale are a rather short drive from the nearest highway, such as I-55, and finding a parking spot is easy. In contrast, the public transit service in District 1 is not very frequent. Thankfully, residents benefit from a few bus lines, and bus stops are generally around the corner. Getting around as a pedestrian is not very common in this district, despite the fact that many day-to-day needs can be met without a vehicle. District 1 is also not very bike-friendly as there are a fair number of slopes for cyclists to brave, and the bicycling network is not very extensive.

Services

Property owners in District 1 will appreciate that a grocery store is always only a long pedestrian trip away. Ridgewood Court Drive is among the best streets for food stores. Furthermore, this district is a fairly good place in which to go out to eat, and a limited selection of cafes is available as well. As far as education is concerned, primary schools are convenient to reach as a pedestrian from anywhere in District 1. On the other hand, high schools are not very abundant and therefore not always within a short distance. Along with public schools, there are private elementary and secondary schools.

The character of District 1 is exemplified by its calm atmosphere. District 1 is excellent for those who prefer quiet surroundings, as noise from streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue.
