Deer Park is an extraordinarily convenient part of Omaha for traveling by car. Parking is generally easy, and most houses for sale are a very short car ride from the closest highway, such as I-80. However, this part of the city is not very transit friendly. Nonetheless, there are a few bus lines passing through the neighborhood, and bus stops are not very far-removed from most residences. It is at times challenging for pedestrians to get around in this neighborhood as few day-to-day needs can be carried out without a vehicle. Despite the fact that there are a good number of bike lanes, the bicycle is a somewhat poor means of transportation in Deer Park as cyclists encounter quite a few hills.

In this neighborhood, locals will often be able to get to primary schools as pedestrians. However, Deer Park does not have any high schools.
