Thankfully, the closest train station, including the Glenolden, Curtis Park and Eastwick on the Media/Wawa Line, Wilmington/Newark Line, Airport Line, Media / Wawa Line and Wilmington / Newark Line, is ordinarily relatively close by from the greater part of residences in the township. The township is served by about 10 bus lines, and bus stops are not very far-removed from most properties. In contrast, Darby is rather car friendly. It is convenient to find a place to park.

It is generally possible for home buyers in this township to purchase their groceries as pedestrians. Likewise, Darby is a fairly good place in which to go out to eat, and a limited selection of coffee shops can be found as well. With respect to education, primary schools are straightforward to get to without a car from anywhere in Darby. However, high schools are not very abundant and accordingly may require a long trip to get to. Darby is unique in that it contains both vibrant and quiet areas, making it appealing to more people. Although this area is not known for its lively atmosphere, its busier streets are still quite energetic, and finding one of the approximately 10 bars is very easy since they are generally situated in very convenient locations. At the same time, this township is very good for those who need quiet surroundings, as there tend to be low levels of noise from traffic. It is rather difficult to reach parks from a large number of locations within the township since they aren't well-spread out. Still, there are around 30 parks close by for residents to discover.
