While cycling infrastructure is limited due to terrain, traveling by car is straightforward with simple parking and connections supported by several bus lines nearby.

This borough will attract people who value living in a compact community since it is moderately suitable for pedestrians; many daily errands can be run without a car, and there are also a good number of businesses nearby. In contrast, this borough is not particularly amenable to biking as Collingdale has rather limited cycling infrastructure, and the topography is not particularly flat. Collingdale is car friendly. Parking is easy. However, the public transit system in Collingdale is somewhat poor. Nonetheless, it is convenient to find a nearby train station, including the Sharon Hill, Curtis Park and Gladstone with access to the Media/Wawa Line, Media / Wawa Line, Wilmington/Newark Line and Wilmington / Newark Line, from the greater part of houses in the borough. There are a few bus lines traversing the borough, and the nearest bus stop is generally around the corner.

It is convenient to reach the nearest grocery store as a pedestrian in this area. Furthermore, a restaurant is generally just around the corner, for example along Macdade Boulevard, and residents are served by a few cafes as well. Home buyers benefit from a fair number of nearby clothing stores. In terms of education, it is a short distance to reach both primary and secondary schools from most houses for sale in this borough. In addition to public schools, there are private elementary and high schools.

Collingdale is appealing, as it contains both vibrant and quiet areas. Although the atmosphere is not the liveliest in this area, its busier streets are still quite dynamic, and places to go out at night are well-spread throughout the borough. At the same time, this area is quiet overall, as there are low levels of noise from traffic, although that is not the case closer to one of the railway lines. Reaching public green spaces, like Glenolden Park and Collingdale Park, is rather difficult from many locations in the borough since they aren't well-spread out. Still, there are about 20 green spaces close by for residents to discover.
