Atlanta
Collier Heights offers a tranquil neighborhood with generally peaceful streets and convenient access to several green spaces, such as Harwell Heights Park. The housing options include a variety of mostly two- and three-bedroom single detached homes built around 1966, alongside smaller and larger apartment buildings, providing diverse living arrangements. Primary schools are located within close proximity to many residences, supporting easy access to educational facilities. The neighborhood benefits from nearby highways like I-285, facilitating straightforward car travel and plentiful parking. Public bus service is available with stops near most properties, making transit a viable option for residents in this calm and inviting area.
Driving is very often the preferred method to navigate this area. Many houses for sale are a short car ride from the nearest highway, such as I-285, and it is especially convenient to find a place to park. On the other hand, the transit access in Collier Heights is rather limited. Thankfully, there is Hamilton E Holmes Station on the Blue. The neighborhood is connected by about 10 bus lines, and the nearest bus stop is usually around the corner. Moving around by bicycle is difficult in this part of the city because there are quite a few hills, and the cycling infrastructure is not very well-developed. A majority of the houses for sale in this neighborhood are located in places that are also not very suitable for pedestrians since carrying out daily needs is at times challenging without a car.
It is convenient to get to the closest grocery store without the use of a vehicle from any home in Collier Heights. There are also a limited number of opportunities for those who appreciate restaurants within a short distance. With respect to education, it is a rather short trip to reach primary schools from anywhere in Collier Heights. In contrast, it can be difficult to access high schools without a vehicle. Apart from public schools, there are private elementary and high schools.
Collier Heights is a reasonably good neighborhood to buy a home in for those who prefer a relaxed environment. Green spaces, including Dr. Mary Shy Scott Memorial Park, are especially well-spread out and there are a few of them nearby for residents to unwind in, which makes it easy to get to them. This part of Atlanta is also quiet, as there are generally low levels of noise from traffic - although that is not the case closer to I-285.
