There are relatively few pedestrians out on the streets of this neighborhood, even though many daily needs are easy to meet without the use of a vehicle. However, cycling is convenient in Cochran Park as cyclists do not face significant slopes, and the bicycling network is reasonably good.
A grocery store is typically reachable within a reasonably short distance from anywhere in this part of Council Bluffs. Concerning education, it is a rather short pedestrian trip to access both primary and secondary schools from anywhere in this part of the city.
Cochran Park is a "jack-of-all-trades" when it comes to the ambience of this part of the city. Most areas in Cochran Park are quiet, as there are usually low levels of noise from traffic, although there are still several noisier sections, especially close to one of the railway lines. However, it is easy to get to public green spaces from the majority of locations in the neighborhood since there are around 10 of them nearby for residents to explore. Lastly, although this part of the city is not known for its lively ambience, places to go out at night are well-distributed throughout the neighborhood.
