Most properties for sale are a short drive from the closest highway, such as I-78, and it is especially convenient to come across a parking spot. On the other hand, traveling by public transit is very difficult in Clinton. Nevertheless, residents can rely on the Lebanon, Annandale and High Bridge with access to the Raritan Valley Line. No bus circuits traverse the township. Biking is difficult in this part of the Greater New York metropolitan area because the bicycling infrastructure is quite bad, and there is a considerable amount of hills. It is also challenging for pedestrians to navigate Clinton as very few day-to-day needs can be carried out without a car.
High schools and primary schools are not especially plentiful in Clinton, and consequently may require a rather long trip to get to. Besides public schools, there are private elementary and secondary schools. With respect to eating, a car is usually needed in Clinton to reach one of around 10 supermarkets.
