Bremerton
Chico offers a calm and peaceful setting with mostly single detached homes and townhouses, many featuring three bedrooms. This neighborhood has low traffic noise contributing to its quiet atmosphere overall. Accessibility by car is highly convenient, with easy parking and quick highway connections available from most locations. Frequent bus lines provide additional travel options, making public transit accessible from nearby stops. The community’s housing includes a range of properties built primarily between 1990 and 2000, with some charming older homes as well. The serene environment and diverse housing options combine to create a welcoming place to establish residence.
Commuting by car is very easy in Chico. The majority of properties for sale are a short drive from the nearest highway, and it is very convenient to come across a place to park. In contrast, public transit users may find very limited options in Chico by reason of the service's low frequency. Nonetheless, homeowners are served by a few bus lines, and the closest bus stop is usually a short distance away. Chico is not very amenable to cycling because the bicycling infrastructure is not very well-developed, and bicycling is rendered difficult by the often hilly topography. Chico is also not very convenient for those who like to get around as pedestrians as most daily needs are challenging to carry out without a car.
It is rarely feasible for property owners in Chico to purchase their groceries without the need for a car. There are also a few opportunities for those who appreciate restaurants and cafes in close proximity. In terms of education, there are only a few high schools and primary schools in this part of the Bremerton-Silverdale-Port Orchard metropolitan area and therefore they can be an extended pedestrian trip away. Residents are served by public and private elementary schools.
Chico is a good community to buy a home in for those who prefer a slower-paced environment. Chico is quiet, as the streets are generally tranquil - although that is not the case closer to the railway line.
