Chester is especially car friendly. It is very easy to park. Chester is not very conducive to biking as there are a fair number of slopes for cyclists to brave, and the cycling infrastructure is rather poor. It is also challenging for pedestrians to get around in this part of the Richmond metropolitan area because most daily needs are occasionally difficult to meet without a car.

Services

High schools and primary schools are not very abundant in this part of the Richmond metropolitan area, and accordingly may require a rather long pedestrian trip to get to. With regards to eating, a vehicle is commonly needed in Chester to reach one of about 10 supermarkets. There are also a few choices for those who care about restaurants and cafes within a short distance.

Character

Chester is a wonderful community to buy a home in for those who prefer a relaxed ambience. Chester is very quiet overall, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamor. Access to green spaces in the community, including Lowe's Athletic Complex and Goyne Park, is rather challenging since they aren't well-located. Still, there are over 50 parks nearby for residents to check out.
