Chalmette is a community that provides access to more than 50 restaurants and coffee shops, enhancing dining options for all tastes. Numerous green spaces, approximately ten within close proximity, create peaceful outdoor areas perfect for relaxation and leisure. The neighborhood features a range of housing styles, including single detached homes, duplexes, and townhouses, mostly built around 1976. Parking availability is generally convenient, and several bus lines serve the area with nearby stops, making access to public transit possible. Primary and secondary schools, including both public and private options, are located within a short distance from various points in the community.

The favored way to move around in this community is often a car. It is very convenient to park. On the other hand, the transit network in Chalmette is not very accessible. Thankfully, the community is served by a few bus lines, and it is very convenient to reach a nearby bus stop from most residences. Chalmette is not especially conducive to pedestrians as few daily errands can be run without a car. The bicycle is a somewhat poor means of transportation in Chalmette as there are few bike lanes. Nonetheless, riding is facilitated by the generally flat terrain.

Services

Both primary and secondary schools are convenient to reach without needing to get in a car from anywhere in this community. Locals have the option of public and private schools at both the elementary and secondary school level. With respect to eating, it is usually feasible for house buyers in this community to do their grocery shopping without a vehicle. Moreover, a restaurant is commonly just around the corner, and home buyers are served by approximately 10 cafes as well.

Character

No matter what type of character home buyers prefer in a community, Chalmette is a reasonably good option. Even though this community is not known for its vibrancy, with its about 20 nightlife venues, it is very easy to find a place to grab a drink because they are generally located around the corner. Chalmette is very good for those who like a quiet atmosphere, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamor around the railway line. It is easy to get to green spaces from the majority of locations in the community since there are a few of them nearby for residents to visit.
