However, this city is not very amenable to biking because there are quite a few hills, and the bicycling network is rather limited. Brookhaven is very car friendly. It is a reasonably short car ride to the closest highway, such as I-85, from any home in Brookhaven, and it is very convenient to find a parking spot. On the other hand, commuting by public transit is difficult in this city. Nonetheless, there are plenty of rapid transit stations on the Red and Gold. The city is served by approximately 20 bus lines, and bus stops are not very far away from most homes.

Services

High schools and primary schools are not particularly numerous in Brookhaven, and thus may be an extended distance away. In addition to public schools, there are private elementary and secondary schools. With respect to food, it is often practical for house buyers in this part of the Atlanta metropolitan area to do groceries as pedestrians. In addition, a restaurant is generally just around the corner, for instance along Clairmont Road, and there are also approximately 20 cafes in Brookhaven.

Character

Brookhaven is a "jack-of-all-trades" when it comes to the feel of this city. Even though this city is not known for its lively atmosphere, with its over 50 nightlife venues, it is easy to find a place to grab a drink because they are generally located a short distance away. Brookhaven is very quiet, as there are usually low levels of noise from traffic. Public green spaces, such as YMCA/Concorde Soccer Complex and Murphey Candler Park, are very well-spread out and there are over 50 of them nearby for residents to relax in, which makes it easy to reach them from most locations in Brookhaven.
