It is at times challenging to commute by bike in this part of the Nashville metropolitan area since cyclists are faced with a considerable amount of slopes, and the bicycling network is not very well-developed. Brentwood is also not very convenient for those who prefer to get around as pedestrians as most day-to-day needs are difficult to meet without a vehicle.

High schools and primary schools are not numerous in Brentwood, and accordingly tend to be a very long pedestrian trip away. Along with public schools, there are private elementary and secondary schools. With respect to eating, it is rarely feasible for home buyers in Brentwood to access one of around 50 supermarkets without a car. A limited number of restaurants are available in Brentwood as well.
