Cars are a very good means of transportation in Breakwater. It is very easy to park. In contrast, public transit users may experience few choices in this part of the city by reason of the infrequent service. Nevertheless, there are a few bus lines traversing the neighborhood, and the closest bus stop is generally very close by. Traveling as a pedestrian is not very practical for property owners in this part of South Portland since very few daily needs can be met without a car. On the other hand, Breakwater is conducive to biking as there are a limited number of slopes for cyclists to brave, and Breakwater features fairly good cycling infrastructure.
Services
A supermarket is ordinarily reachable within a very long pedestrian trip from most houses for sale in Breakwater. Likewise, a restaurant is often just around the corner. With regards to education, it is a reasonably short pedestrian trip to get to primary schools from most homes for sale in Breakwater. In contrast, there are no high schools in Breakwater.
Character
Breakwater is unique in that it has both vibrant and quiet areas, making it appealing to more people. Even though this part of South Portland is not known for its lively atmosphere, with the nightlife venues in nearby neighborhoods, it is very easy to find a place to grab a drink as they are generally located very close by. At the same time, this part of the city is wonderful for those who prefer quiet surroundings, as there are low levels of noise from traffic.
