The favored means of transportation in this neighborhood is very often a car. It is very convenient to park. In contrast, traveling by public transit is very hard in this part of Boise City. Nevertheless, the neighborhood is linked by a few bus lines, and bus stops are not especially far-removed from most homes. Getting around as a pedestrian is not particularly convenient for residents in Boise Heights since carrying out daily needs is occasionally challenging without the use of a vehicle, and a fair number of businesses of different types can be found as well. In contrast, this part of the city is conducive to cycling.

Property owners in this part of Boise City will value that a grocery store is always only a very long pedestrian trip away. Boise Heights is a "jack-of-all-trades" when it comes to the feel of this area. Even though the atmosphere is not the liveliest in this area with the bars in nearby neighborhoods, it is rather difficult to find a place to grab a drink as they are generally located relatively far away. Boise Heights is great for those who like a quiet atmosphere, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamor. There are around 10 parks close by for residents to relax in, such as Military Reserve, and they are very well-spread out, resulting in them being easy to reach from most locations in the neighborhood.
