Beechview offers a tranquil neighborhood with calm streets and well-distributed green spaces that enhance its inviting atmosphere. The housing market features primarily single detached homes and duplexes, many dating back to before the 1960s, with a variety of unit sizes available, including spacious three-bedroom homes.
This area offers home buyers several alternative means of transportation. Beechview is home to reasonably good transit infrastructure. Rapid transit stations, such as Broadway Ave at Shiras, Potomac Station and Boggs Station on the Castle Shannon via Beechview, South Hills Village via Overbrook and Library via Overbrook, are not very far away from the greater part of residences in the neighborhood. There are approximately 10 bus lines traversing the neighborhood, and the nearest bus stop is usually very close by. House buyers who want to live in a compact community will also be pleased with the moderately pedestrian-friendly character of this part of Pittsburgh; many daily errands can be run without needing to get in a vehicle. Beechview is not particularly bicycling-friendly because cyclists are faced with a considerable amount of slopes, and the cycling infrastructure is not very extensive.
The closest grocery store in Beechview is usually only a short distance away. In addition, a restaurant is generally just around the corner, and a limited variety of coffee shops is available as well. With regards to education, in this area, residents will typically be able to get to primary schools as pedestrians. However, high schools are not very abundant and therefore not always within a short distance.
No matter what type of character home buyers prefer in a neighborhood, Beechview is a good option. Although this neighborhood is not known for its lively ambience, finding one of the about 10 bars is very easy as they are generally situated in very convenient locations. Beechview is very quiet, as there are usually low levels of noise from traffic. There are around 20 public green spaces close by for residents to explore, including Chatham Village Greenspace and Mount Washington Park, and they are especially well-spread out, resulting in them being easy to access from most locations within Beechview.
