Driving is usually the best way to navigate Barberton. It is very convenient to park, and the majority of houses for sale are a rather short car ride from the closest highway, such as US Highway 224. On the other hand, public transit users may find limited choices in this part of the Akron metropolitan area by reason of the infrequent service. Thankfully, the city is linked by a few bus lines, and bus stops are not very far-removed from most homes. Barberton is not especially appropriate for bicycling as the cycling infrastructure is not very extensive, and riding is rendered difficult by the often sloping terrain. Barberton is also not particularly conducive to those who prefer to get around as pedestrians since many day-to-day needs are occasionally difficult to carry out without a vehicle.

Primary schools are easy to access without a vehicle from any location in this part of the Akron metropolitan area. On the other hand, locals may consider it very difficult to get to high schools without a car. Residents benefit from public and private schools at both the elementary and secondary school level.
