The neighborhood’s housing primarily consists of spacious single detached homes built between 1960 and 1980, featuring three to four or more bedrooms. It benefits from an extensive network of cycling paths, making bicycling a convenient option within the area. Parking is readily available, and many residences are conveniently located close to major highways, supporting easy vehicle travel. Residents have access to a variety of nearby amenities with the convenience of driving, making daily errands manageable and efficient.

Avondale is very car friendly. It is a rather short drive to the closest highway from anywhere in Avondale, and parking is quite easy. However, Avondale is not particularly transit friendly. Thankfully, the closest train station, including the Vasco Road Station and Vasco Rt Amtrak Station with access to the Altamont Corridor Express and ACE Train, is generally a short distance away from the greater part of houses in the neighborhood. The neighborhood is linked by a few bus lines, and most residences are very close to a bus stop. Avondale is not very convenient for pedestrians since very few common errands can be run without a car. However, a good number of residents in the area use their bike because the cycling infrastructure is extensive.

Services

There are only a few primary schools in Avondale and thus they can be a long distance away. Moreover, this part of Livermore does not have any high schools. With respect to food, property owners in Avondale usually have to rely on a vehicle to do their groceries.

Character

Avondale is an excellent neighborhood to buy a home in for those who prefer a calm atmosphere. Avondale is very quiet, as the streets tend to be very peaceful.
