Cycling is challenging in this part of the Wyoming Valley metropolitan area because bike riders encounter a considerable amount of hills, and the bicycling network is not very comprehensive. It is also difficult for pedestrians to move around in this borough because few daily errands can be run without a vehicle.
Primary schools tend to be a very long distance away, and there are no high schools in Avoca. In terms of eating, property owners in this borough commonly need a vehicle to access one of approximately 10 grocery stores. Nevertheless, getting to the closest pharmacy and thus some basic food items is generally straightforward. Residents are served by approximately 30 restaurants and coffee shops as well.
