Averyville is not particularly conducive to bicycling because cyclists are faced with quite a few hills, and there are a limited number of bike lanes. Traveling as a pedestrian is also not very convenient for residents in this neighborhood because few daily needs can be met without a vehicle, and a good number of businesses of different types can be found as well.

Averyville offers an unique mix of areas that are both busy and quiet. Even though the ambience is not the most lively in this part of Peoria with the bars in nearby neighborhoods, it is very easy to find a place to grab a drink because they are generally located around the corner. At the same time, this part of the city is reasonably good for those who prefer quiet areas, as the streets are quite calm, although that is not the case closer to one of the railway lines.
