It is inconvenient for pedestrians to move around in this part of Jacksonville since running common errands is sometimes difficult without a vehicle. Commuting by bicycle is also challenging in Avenues because there are few bike lanes. Nonetheless, there are not many hills to challenge bicycle riders.

Furthermore, Avenues is a good place in which to go out to eat, and residents are served by a few cafes as well. It is also a rather short pedestrian trip to a decent selection of clothing stores.
