The car is very often the preferred approach to get around in Algodones. The majority of the street infrastructure is built for cars, and it is very easy to park. This community is not very well-suited for pedestrians as running common errands is very difficult without needing a vehicle. Commuting by bicycle is also very difficult in Algodones as there are a good number of hills to challenge cyclists, and the cycling infrastructure is not very comprehensive.

In all but a very small number of cases, a vehicle is needed in Algodones to reach the closest supermarket. With respect to education, it can be challenging to access primary schools as a pedestrian.
