Traveling as a pedestrian is not very practical for house buyers in this city since running common errands is impractical without a vehicle. The bicycle is a sometimes poor method of transportation in Alcoa because there are a fair number of elevation changes, and there are few bike lanes.

Some, but not all, property owners in this part of the Knoxville metropolitan area will reside within a short distance of one of approximately 20 supermarkets. The noise levels in Alcoa are low, as the streets are reasonably tranquil - however some areas can be quite noisy, especially closer to one of the 2 airports (Mc Ghee Tyson,Sky Ranch), one of the railway lines, I-140 or Pellissippi Pkwy.
