I'm a retired structured finance professional. With undergraduate degrees in accounting and quantitative methods and an MBA in finance and international business, I enjoyed a successful career in domestic and cross-border leveraged leasing market. The subject of these very large transactions included high-speed rail systems and train-sets, power plants, subway systems and other similar assets. I generally advised equity investors in these transactions (large banks, insurance companies, etc) and was very much involved in all due diligence aspects (especially real estate related and often under foreign laws) in completing them.
As the US tax laws regarding these transactions evolved, they became economically unattractive and the industry ultimately disbanded. After a number of years, my wife and I relocated from southwest Florida to coastal Georgia in 2011. I obtained my sales license in March of 2014 and sold several million dollars of residential real estate over the next 2 year period. In June 2016 my wife and I relocated to Punta Gorda. I'm now an agent with RE/MAX Excel and I'd be very happy to help you find a home in this wonderful place! Life is better in southwest Florida!
