A Neighborhood Like No Other
Mount Airy, established in 1750, was once part of the original German Township that settled in the area in the late 1680s. Much of the Mount Airy section of Philadelphia was developed during the late 19th and early 20th centuries, and the area comprises large Victorian and Colonial-revival architecture with stained-glass windows and slate roofs.
Mount Airy students mainly attend the Philadelphia School System, but there are also six private schools and one Catholic school from which to attend. And although there are no colleges or universities located directly in the are, it is a short drive to attend any one of six universities.
Real estate in Mt. Airy varies as much as its background. Homes are available starting at $75,000 on up to over $300,000.
