A Realtor with Quadriplegia - My Story
Who is the "Wheeltor Realtor"? Meet me!
A licensed, Northern Colorado Realtor since 2001, I strive every day to be a shining example of someone who rises above adversity to reach new heights and challenges. As the result of an accident in 2008, which left me instantaneously paralyzed, I am now a self-described “Wheeltor”, since I pursue my real estate career using my wheelchairs, with the help of my husband, Gary, my service dog, Mara, and technology. I’ve been a Realtor with RE/MAX Nexus since 2015, and was just recently awarded the 2017 RE/MAX “Above the Crowd” Award!
I began my real estate career as a buyer’s agent for new construction in Greeley, and now am experienced in helping to facilitate the sales of a wide variety of properties including existing residential, new construction, town homes/condos, farms/ranches, vacant land and some commercial. I have lived in several areas of Northern Colorado and know the individual markets well.
The spinal cord injury I sustained has allowed me to add another dimension to my past experience in real estate because I better understand the special needs that people, such as myself, may have. I have seen both sides of the coin, as a Realtor, and as a person with a disability seeking housing and I hope to increase awareness of the issues faced by those with disabilities when it comes to buying and selling a home, or those who may want to age in place. I volunteer as Treasurer on the Board of Directors of the Atlantis Community Foundation in Denver, an organization that advocates for the homeless and the disabled. Together, we are working with others to design both affordable and wheelchair-accessible housing for those in need. My vision is that these projects will be repeated nationally, due to enormous lack of barrier-free housing that exists.
I love practicing real estate and I truly enjoy getting to know and understand my clients and their needs. My mission is to uphold the highest service standards of my profession, offering prompt and informative communication and a thorough insight to the real estate process. I aim to establish a business relationship based on honesty and kindness, so that my clients will experience an enjoyable, individualized, and educational transaction, while looking forward to serving those in our community with diverse buying and selling needs.
Contact me, today, and let’s talk about real estate - I also speak Spanish!
