My roots run deep here in Alaska as the granddaughter of a feisty Athabaskan gal who was raised on the Yukon River. She was schooled in a missionary in Holy Cross and then eventually settled down to reside in Anchorage. She was pregnant with my mother the 1964 earthquake and as luck would have it, they both survived it. My father is a transplant from Buffalo, New York, who has a strong passion for hunting and all things outdoors. I can proudly say that I was born at the original Alaska Native Medical Center in downtown Anchorage, before they tore it down. My parents raised me here in Anchorage, where I returned after graduating from Western Michigan University with a degree in Biomedical Sciences. I love to travel and have been to some pretty amazing places, but have yet to find any place like Alaska. There certainly isn’t anywhere else that I would rather call home.
Over the last few years since graduating from college, I have been fortunate enough to have made some really amazing connections with people that brought me to incredible business opportunities. I worked for nearly four years as a department manager at Nordstrom where I learned that the key to being successful is directly related to the amount of hard work you are willing to put into it. I can also attribute acquiring my love of “working for myself” to that time period. As one could imagine, the strain of working retail and nearly every holiday of the year eventually wore me down. Luckily for me, around the same time I was presented with the opportunity to become the assistant to the broker for RE/MAX Dynamic Properties. After nearly a year and a half of working side by side with Realtors, aiding and celebrating their successes, I finally decided that I wanted to do the same myself.
I have fallen in love with this industry and the opportunity that it affords to those who dare to explore it. For me, being a Realtor is more than just a business choice. I genuinely look forward to helping people make their real estate dreams a reality in this city and state that I love so much.
