Figure out what you love to do and build your business around it. That’s what Eric Rehling tells new agents at RE/MAX Ready, and it’s how he’s followed his own real estate career from investor, to agent, to broker.
Eric learned responsibility early, having grown up in Montgomery County helping tend to four horses. After studying finance and marketing at Florida State University, he partnered with his best friend from Blue Bell Elementary, Matt Mittman, in founding an investment partnership buying and selling real estate. They pursued real estate licenses to expand their knowledge of the industry, never imagining they’d actually work as agents.
Yet that’s exactly what happened! As more and more requests poured in from other investors looking for help, they joined a local RE/MAX office to work as agents full-time. Always looking to the future, he started taking broker classes, and in 2010, co-founded RE/MAX Ready in Conshohocken.
For Eric, founding RE/MAX Ready was about building his career around his lifelong passion: teaching. As an agent, what he loves most about his job is teaching first-time homeowners about real estate, and becoming a broker has offered many more teaching opportunities in the form of mentoring and coaching other agents. With his leadership, RE/MAX Ready has enjoyed high rates of retention and production—about twice the average production compared to other brokerages in the area.
