Brighton’s Independence Day celebration starts its morning off with a pancake breakfast, and Brighton Chamber of Commerce’s 4th of July 5k road race. It starts at 8 a.m. and leaves from Brighton High School. Later in the afternoon, the party moves to Meridian Park where there will be amusement rides, concessions and other activities for you to enjoy! The Brighton Community Garden was established in 2009. It grew out of the Brighton Farmers Market and the Brighton High School Environmental Club.

The Garden is located just east of the historic Buckland House on Westfall Road, between Winton Road South and South Clinton Avenue.
  • One of Rochester's oldest suburbs, Brighton boasts historic homes that were once part of the Underground Railroad, some of the area's oldest planned communities, and the latest in new construction.
Established in 1814, the town once stretched to Irondequoit Bay, and at its heart was the Erie Canal, now what we know as the 490. Brighton, with its clay soil, developed a brick industry which reached its peak in the late 1800's.
The 12 Corners area has many of the town’s amenities and has become the center of town where we gather for the Little League Parade, the Fourth of July celebrations, and homecoming.
