Take a nap on the train, read, or get a head start on the day's work. Westwood, downtown area, is small enough to get around entirely on foot. Most restaurants and shops, located in the downtown area of Westwood are a great escape when returning home from a hard days work. As far as transportation to NYC, Westwood is serviced by New jersey transit trains on the Pascack Valley Line into Hoboken for transfer to Path Trains.

No surprises here, Westwood named best shopping destination by 201 magazine "Best of Bergen" issue. With its mixture of specialty shops, restaurants, bakeries, movie theater, etc. Westwood maintains its desirability for shoppers in quaint outdoor mall environment.
Planners call Westwood a perfect downtown shopping area. Westwood shopping district is four blocks long, the perfect pedestrian distance planners say, and bordered by Veteran's Park on one end and Firemen's Park on the other. Many shops, restaurants and parking have been nicely developed off of the main avenue over the years. Many other towns and even Disney's Epcot Center have visited and studied its planning.

Westwood is tucked in the northeast corner of Bergen County just a few miles west of New York City and south of upstate New York. Known as the "HUB" of the Pascack Valley of towns, Westwood's famous downtown shopping district attracts visitors from all over area enticed by Westwood's energy and activities. With almost 11,000 residents, neighborhoods are connected by sidewalks, allowing that "community" feel and sense of family and town pride.

Westwood is a town that has it all: lovely parks, activities for all ages, hospital, mass transportation, sports, community center, fabulous restaurants and shopping. Everything is within walking distance! But the biggest asset of all...its smiling and friendly residents and families! WELCOME TO WONDERFUL WESTWOOD!!!

A super Westwood tradition is the "Home for the Holidays Parade" that is held annually in downtown Westwood. The parade starts at 6pm and features local groups and wonderful floats with merchants staying open late and having great giveaways. This year, the Westwood Regional High School football team has made it to the state sectional final at Kean University vs. Waldwick/Midland Park. Westwood Chamber of Commerce is working on a way to keep the football team and cheerleaders involved in the parade regardless of the 4 pm game time they have earlier that day.
