Wayne Raquet Club hosted Rally for the Cure this past Saturday, September 27th. This was a fabulous community event with some fun and some serious tennis. Participants enjoyed some great special events (clock your serve w/radar, beat the pro, hit the bull's-eye and others) plus other activities (ping-pong, beanbag toss, ladder golf) for players and non-players. We had great goody bags and tons of prizes - not to mention fantastic food.

Wayne Township is situated in central Passaic County and contains a total of 24.89 square miles. It is suburban in nature and is bordered on the north by Franklin Lakes (Bergen County) and Pompton Lakes, on the west by Pequannock Township and Lincoln Park (Morris County), on the south by Totowa and Little Falls and Fairfield (Essex County), and on the east by North Haledon and Haledon.

Route 23 is a four-lane state-maintained highway running north and south along the townships westerly border. It provides access to I-287 a few miles to the north and I-80 and State Route 46 at the south end of the Township. The Willowbrook Mall “a regional shopping center” is located at the intersection of Rt. 23, Route 46 and Interstate Route 80. Its retail business districts are active and stable. Wayne is home to many office buildings and shopping malls, as a result the township sees an influx of workers and shoppers from surrounding communities.

Wayne is the third largest municipality in Passaic County. Population held steady over the decade to 2010 and moderate growth is expected to continue as little land is left for larger scale development within the township.
