    Somerville, NJ
Somerville is the County Seat of Somerset County. Located along the Raritan Valley Line of New Jersey Transit and just 1 1/2 hours into New York City by train. The population is a little over 12,000 and is approximately 2.3 square miles. One of my favorite things to do in Somerville is the Classic Car Show on Main Street. It is held every Friday night from Memorial Day to Labor Day. A majority of the restaurants in Somerville are on Main Street and have sidewalk dining...so make reservations and come enjoy some good food and see the Classic Cars.

Main Street Somerville is filled with historical buildings, consisting of individually owned and brand name stores, restaurants as well as apartments. The downtown area is inviting day and night for residents, visitors, workers and professionals. Seasonal music as well as rock and pop can be heard through out the streets from the numerous speakers. Our Main Street hosts signature and other events that attract new audiences daily. During the summer on Friday nights, Main street is owned by the classic cruiser show, live music and performers. At least four times a year it shuts down for a street fair and of course, the annual bike race.

Division Street is closed to car traffic and is proudly known as Division Street Arts and Pedestrian Plaza. Featuring, art fairs, live bands, movies on a big screen, ice skating rink in the winter along with horse drawn carriage rides just to name a few!

All within a block to the County Court House and the recently renovated Somerville train station that offers service on New Jersey Transit's Raritan Valley Line, with frequent service to Newark Penn Station, with connecting service to Penn Station New York in Midtown Manhattan.
