Keyport will be hosting the Annual Candlelight Tour of homes on December 10th. This is a great event, and it runs from 4-9pm. You can walk around town or jump on the Trolly Car. You will be amazed at the beautiful homes and wonderful people that you will see. The Candlelight Tour is a wonderful thing to do with some friends. Afterwards, stop at one of the local restaurants/bars for a bite to eat and maybe a drink to warm you up.

My husband and I went to Burlews Restaurant last week for dinner. It was a gorgeous night so we decided to walk, which is one of the wonderful things about living in Keyport. You can pretty much walk everywhere.

For anyone who loves clams, you must try the Drunken Clams at Burlews, you will thank me later. To our surprise Jaws was being shown on the big screen down on the waterfront. I didn't see it on the original schedule, but it was a wonderful bonus for the evening. After dinner we walked over to the park, and sat in the grass with our Italian ice that we got from Uncle Louie's Italian Ice Shop on West Front Street, and enjoyed a free movie under the stars.

There are so many events in this little waterfront town. If you are looking for something to do, go to the Keyport website, to see what is going on!

If you love walking along the waterfront without the crazy crowds, or if you have an appreciation for History and Historic Architecture then Keyport should be on your list of places to visit. Founded in 1714 by the Kearney Family it was originally called Key Grove Farms. The small waterfront town continued to evolve over the next 100 years and in 1830 became a major shipping port for products being sent to NYC. Now people use the boat ramp to launch small vessels and Kayaks.

Saturday March 12th is Keyport's St. Patricks Day Parade starting at 1:00 p.m.. Come enjoy some Irish fare, a bee,r and a great time with the family. Hope to see you there.

One of the things I love most about Keyport is that within the 1.47 square miles of this tiny waterfront town, there is always a new treasure to be found. A few nights ago my husband and I headed out to Lenora's (located on West Front Street, and also a fabulous food find) for a late night dinner. To our disappointment, they had already closed up. As we drove down Broad Street the bright lights of the Vintage Broad Street Diner caught our eye. We had heard it was under new ownership and figured, let's give it a try. So glad we did! The menu offered so many original options as well as the ones you would look for at a diner. I got the truck stop bowl...OMG!

First of all, definitely big enough to share. It was layers of corned beef hash (a throw back from my younger years) with peppers, onions, and potatoes. Next, the scrambled eggs then to top it off a multitude of melted cheese. Trust me this chef takes pride in what he serves. It was extremely flavorful and very fresh.

If you are looking for a really great deal, try going on Monday or Tuesday when you have the option of the two for $20 menu meals. Make it a date and take a stroll along the waterfront afterward and catch a sunset.
