Shoot em up Cowboy!!! Spend a day with the kids stepping back in time to the old Wild West. Wild West City is a western heritage theme park recreating 1880's life in Dodge City,Kansas. We love to go for a few hours to enjoy the western adventures from portrayals of real-life western characters, shows and more. It gives us a great excuse to wear our cowboy boots and hats and the kids love pretending to be cowboys and indians and talking to each other at the jail there!! It is located at 50 Lackawanna Dr, Stanhope, NJ 07874, (973) 347-8900

c is called the Township of Lakes, But for many, Byram is the perfect place to live. Byram borders the towns of Andover, Hopatcong, Sparta, Jefferson and Stanhope. It is easily accessible by Routes 206 and 80 for commuters. There are many historical sites located in Byram, such as the Roseville Schoolhouse, built in 1853, The Leport House, built in 1802, Byram's oldest remaining house, is located right by the Byram General Store on Sparta-Stanhope Road. The Lockwood Cemetery, Byram's most recognizable cemetery, was established circa 1818. In years past, Byram was a large mining location, and to this day many of the original mining caves still exist, and are seen by bike riders and hikers. Byram Township is known as the "Gateway to New Jersey Trails" Sussex Branch Trail extends 21.2 miles from Netcong to Branchville, following the route of the old Sussex Branch Railroad. Today trail users can explore the route once used by steam locomotives and long freight trains.

Byram Township has focused on dedicating land to be used for recreation parks and sports fields, One of the most notable parks is, C.O. Johnson Park, named for a former Byram mayor, C.O. Johnson has a football field, baseball field, tennis court, skateboard park, bocce court, playground and a track for walking. Byram Township has also been the home of the infamous Waterloo Village, Waterloo Village was open to the public for many years to exhibit many time periods from a 400-year-old Lenape Native American village, to the Morris Canal port. The early 19th-century village contained a working mill with gristmills and sawmills, a general store, a blacksmith shop and restored houses. Classical and popular music programs are available to the public during the summer months. Waterloo Village was shut down to preserve the artifacts inside, though plans have been made to restore the buildings on the site. With all of the history that Byram Township holds, it also has much to offer to the present. Byram Township being recognized as the "Townships of Lakes", because of the large lakes here including Cranberry Lake, Jefferson Lake, Frenches Pond, Forest Lakes and Johnson Lake. The lakes provide opportunities for boating, swimming, fishing, ice skating and a great place to live or just visit. I have been privileged to spend much of my life growing up in Byram, and I can say it has provided a great childhood and enriched my adult life as well.
