Having Fun in a Serious Market
My mother has always said, "Drake, you need to be in sales." Her reason for saying this stemmed from my early years of driveway lemonade stands and going door-to-door in our neighborhood selling my toys.
During one of my curb-side toy sales, my inventory consisted of the usual Hot Wheels cars, old stuffed animals, G.I. Joe's, etc. I also had a very special item for sale on this day. I had an army helmet (it even had a dent that made it look real). Words couldn't describe how excited I was to have this one of a kind item on my table! The first car pulled up and asked how much I was selling the army helmet for. I said with excitement, "Three dollars!" The man handed me a five and told me to keep the change. Little did I know, the army helmet was my grandpa's from World War II and the dent was from real combat...
