TEAM REAMES RE/MAX
My name is Ed Reames a native Texan and lifelong resident of north Texas. Thank you for your visit here. My joy is to serve people. My profession is to serve people by helping them get what they want in real estate.
My real estate education began as a kid working in my dad’s rent houses and in his business. He taught me to have integrity and treat all people fairly. He taught me the golden rule at an early age and I’ve been practicing ever since.
My professional real estate career began in 2003 when I joined the mortgage industry and became a mortgage banker. During my eight year tenure as a mortgage banker I earned various licenses and awards, hallmarks of training and success. I eventually became a partner in a mortgage company prior to 2008.
I knew early in my mortgage career that I wanted to become a Realtor. I officially made the career shift Jan 1, 2012. My mortgage experience has proved to be invaluable and further enables me to help people navigate the process of real estate acquisition, ownership, management and disposition.
I wanted to become a realtor for a variety of reasons. Most important among them is the opportunity to serve people with arguably the largest purchase and financial decision many of them will ever make. Very few objects in the world impact a family like a home.
Another invaluable purpose that drives me as a realtor is the opportunity to live and work among those I serve. Some of my friends and neighbors are moving up and moving over. My future friends and neighbors are moving in and moving around. I love working with new and existing relationships in ways that impact my town and community the most.
I’ve been in sales my whole life in one way or another. I’ve won a variety of awards and prizes for same. But the best award I earn frequently is the referral from a friend or previous client. The referral is an award of trust and confidence. Realtors are compensated with commissions, but I work for referrals!
I’m a member of Prosper Rotary the local chapter of Rotary International. Rotary International is a global service organization for local professionals whose goals are to serve community locally, nationally and globally. We support local charities and PISD graduates through scholarships to Collin College.
Prosper Rotary’s lone annual fund raiser is the Prosper Flag program where we place American flags at homes and businesses on patriotic holidays, on a subscription basis. The annual flag subscription is $50 for a single or $500 for a colony of 13 flags. We distribute and display on 5 patriotic holidays each year. 100% of the funds raised (less flag inventory maintenance) go to the charities.
In 1984 I graduated from East Texas State University, BBA Marketing. While in college I served as a summer missionary in California in 1979 and Kansas in 1980. I also served the Baptist Student Union of Commerce, TX as the Summer Missions Coordinator from 1979-1981.
I began my sales career at age 7 under my dad’s wing at a shade tree fireworks stand next to the local deli. My mother ran the deli and there she taught me how to love people with service and a smile. That business was known as Reames Market.
Reames Market became a local business icon in Hunt County where I was able to start and finish my first sales career. In 2016 I sold the property to another investor group thus ending a 50 year association with my first business.
I’ve now been living and working in Collin County 24 years. I’ve lived in Plano, McKinney and Prosper, TX since 2002. There’s a lot to like in Collin County and we invite you to come see what all the fuss is about.
Please call on me anytime I can be of service. My joy is to serve people and I would love to serve you by helping you get what you want in real estate. Thank you!
